Ben Hood is chief executive officer at HotSchedules and Fourth, the provider of the industry’s leading hospitality operations platform. In this role, Hood is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company, building winning teams and cultivating the company’s value-driven culture.
Hood joined Fourth in 1999, handpicked by co-founders Derek and Edwina Lilley as employee number one. Focused on moving the industry away from the tedious manual processes of the past and into the age of streamlined digital solutions, Hood traveled the world in search of the brightest talent – people who understood the hospitality sector and shared their vision for it. This eventually led to the creation of Fourth’s all-inclusive hospitality operations platform and subsequent HR offerings, making Fourth the only complete, end-to-end hospitality solutions provider in the world.
As CEO, Hood successfully led Fourth through eight acquisitions, multiple product enhancements and global expansion. Hood spent his entire career in the retail and hospitality sector. Prior to Fourth, he served 11 years at Tesco focusing on retail operations and spent two years with Cap Gemini on the Tesco future team.

As Chief Customer Officer, David Cantu is responsible for sales and building and maintaining strong relationships with customers by engaging with them at all levels to collect and disseminate customer feedback throughout the company. Prior to becoming CCO, Mr. Cantu was the vice president of Business Development and co-founder of HotSchedules, Inc. Through his leadership, HotSchedules repeatedly achieved more than 40 percent annual growth goals and was consistently recognized on the Inc. 5000 and Austin Business Journal’s Fast 50 growth indexes.
Mr. Cantu’s 17+ years of restaurant operations experience have contributed to HotSchedules’ product development and innovative solutions to improve restaurant operations scheduling efficiencies, labor management, and increased employee engagement. Mr. Cantu attended the University of Texas at San Antonio. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and three children. He is an active member of Vistage International, an executive peer advisory program, and enjoys running, fishing, water sports, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Texas and escaping to the wine country or beach whenever possible.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
A technology executive with more than 22 years of experience, Bijal Patel joins HotSchedules from Aptean, a global provider of enterprise software solutions. As Executive Vice President and CFO, Mr. Patel was responsible for the company’s finance, legal, facilities and IT functions. Prior to joining Aptean, Mr. Patel held several executive finance roles at Misys, a global provider of software solutions focused on the financial services industry.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Patel served over a decade in various finance and commercial leadership positions at IBM. He was primarily based in the UK, leading teams across Ireland, Netherlands and South Africa. He was on assignment for three years in Slovakia to set up and lead IBM’s European Finance Centre of Excellence. Mr. Patel brings a wealth of international and technology experience to HotSchedules and an operational, hands-on approach to the CFO role.
CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER
Ted Kondis became CRO of HotSchedules in January of 2017 after spending the past 15 years at SAP Ariba. At SAP Ariba he held various VP and General Management positions, most recently the SVP for the Global Customer Organization responsible for all ongoing customer relationships and for supporting the growth of SAP Ariba’s global business.
Prior to SAP Ariba, Mr. Kondis was with Andersen Business Consulting and Gemini Consulting, both management consulting firms, where he advised firms on strategy, operations and supply chain transformation initiatives across a variety of industries. He earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. in General Business from the University of Texas at Austin.
CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER
Brian Gaffney is a software executive with over 15 years in the enterprise software marketplace. He currently leads the development and operations across the HotSchedules SaaS portfolio. Mr. Gaffney’s tenure includes leadership positions in sales, product development, and technical consulting. He has a proven track record of driving commercial and technical results for venture-backed companies like Emotive Communications, Symplified, AppDynamics, and AmberPoint.
Prior to these startups, Mr. Gaffney led the design and build out of large-scale, custom software system for private Department of Defense clients as an architect in Booz Allen Hamilton’s technology practice. Mr. Gaffney holds an MS in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.
CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER
John Herbst is the Chief Legal Officer and Board Secretary at HotSchedules where he leads legal operations. Prior to joining HotSchedules, Mr. Herbst led legal departments and corporate development functions at public and private growth and technology oriented companies, including Adknolwedge, Inc., Fiberweb plc and Pentax Corporation. Mr. Herbst also spent 8 years in private practice as a corporate attorney with Clifford Chance (in New York and London) and Lowenstein Sandler (New York).
Mr. Herbst holds a B.A. in political Science from James Madison University, a J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University and an M.B.A. jointly granted by NYU Stern Business School, London School of Economics and HEC, Paris.
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF GLOBAL CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT
Matt Leone is the Executive Vice President of Global Customer Management at HotSchedules where he leads the Customer Care , Customer Management, and Global Services team. Mr. Leone has over 20 years in the software industry sector where he held numerous executive leadership positions.
Most recently as Global Head of SAP Cloud Adoption and Revenue Retention, including one of SAP’s largest Cloud units, SuccessFactors. Prior to that role, Mr. Leone spent 11 years at Ariba, an SAP company. He earned a BS in Finance from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management.
SVP, CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
Francois Wolf is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for HotSchedules where he has strategic and operational responsibility for all marketing activities. Mr. Wolf strives to deploy an insights-driven culture aimed at setting a successful framework for marketing’s strategic impact on the business and on creating innovative campaigns.
Prior to HotSchedules, Mr. Wolf served as CMO at Stratfor, a global analysis firm, and previously, as CMO at Pivot3, a leading provider of hyper-converged IT infrastructure for the Software Defined Data Center. He led digital marketing for e-commerce at Dun & Bradstreet and Hoover’s, and drove global product introductions at Dell and BOXX Technologies. Mr. Wolf holds an MBA from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management and a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
HEAD OF PRODUCT
Fahd Pirzada is the Head of Product at HotSchedules where he leads the Product Management, Program Management and Design teams. Mr. Pirzada acts as the primary driver of the organization’s product vision, overseeing the development and execution of the software roadmap.
Previously, Mr. Pirzada served as the Vice President of Product Management at Accruent, the leading provider of real estate and facilities management software, where he was responsible for managing all product lines and various strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Accruent, he spent 14 years at Dell where he held various management positions in the Product and Technology organization. Mr. Pirzada holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS in Electrical Engineering from GIK Institute. He also holds twenty-six US patents in areas of computing and networks.

Granya Gormley is the Head of Human Resources for HotSchedules responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.
In this role, Granya is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the global HR team, driving key HR initiatives including talent management, performance management, learning and development and employee engagement. Prior to joining HotSchedules, Granya held the leadership role of Vice President, Human Resources and Training for Gatti’s Pizza and worked with New World Restaurant Group for 10 years, lastly in the position of Director of Human Resources. A graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Communications, Granya and her family resides in Austin, Texas.
