When we were your age, we didn’t have “overtime.” Instead we had to milk the cows, feed the chickens, paint the fence, plough the earth, and raise a barn all before sunrise. We get it, though. Keeping track of the hours you put in is important, so shouldn’t HotSchedules keep you informed of where you stand throughout the week?

In most cases, HotSchedules does keep track of labor worked and is configured for the various state overtime laws, but unfortunately for the employees, that information is only accessible to the management teams. Because the managers are the ones that write the schedules, knowing how many hours everyone has worked is pretty important to them.

For companies that integrate their Point of Sale systems with HotSchedules, there are various reports available on the site that managers can access. Even companies that don’t integrate with their Point of Sale systems have labor reports somewhere, so just ask your friendly manager, and we’re willing to bet that they would be happy to provide how many hours you’ve worked. You might also want to keep track of your hours the old fashioned way by retaining the printout when you clock out and keep a running tally of your hours; after all, that’s what we did when we worked nights at the local diner after doing homework by candlelight.
