Why am I still getting emails from HS when I haven’t worked there in X time?

Did you ever have a boyfriend or girlfriend that you broke up with, and they just kept texting you? You tried telling them that things weren’t working out and you should see other people, but the texts kept coming. Sometimes getting HotSchedules emails from an employer that you no longer work for can feel the same way. Why does it happen? How can you stop it for good?

There are three statuses that a HotSchedules account can be in – Active, Inactive, and Terminated. When you’re actively using your account to check your schedule, release your shifts, or message your coworkers, your account is in the Active state. When you take an extended leave of absence for any reason, your account can be Inactivated, so when you come back, a new account doesn’t have to be created for you. Your account will be Terminated when you move on to bigger and better things, or are cough fired.

When you link your personal email address with your account, HotSchedules will send emails notifications while your account is Active or Inactive , and once the account is Terminated, you will no longer receive anything. The only problem here is that sometimes managers are misinformed on the differences between the Inactive and Terminated statuses, so any time Joe Schmo is “too sick” to work and sends a HotSchedules message to everyone and their brother announcing he released his shift, you get an email notification. Not cool, Joe Schmo. Not cool.

Lucky for you, stopping those emails is super easy. The next time you get one of those notifications, simply click the Unsubscribe link in body of the message.

Now if only there was a way to unsubscribe from your ex.
