By now, we’ve probably all read or at least heard of the now-infamous restaurant that watched old footage of their customers to figure why they were getting bad reviews. We’ve also probably all heard that this was allegedly made up.

Whether it was true or not, the question is a good one: do customers spend too much time on their cell phones while at restaurants?

We decided to do a little investigation into what other restaurants do to handle cell phone etiquette.

Below is what we found. Some were very nice, others just plain intolerant. But mostly, they just want to be able to provide a great guest experience without a long wait.

Sometimes images are more powerful than words.

Others take the polite but firm approach.

These restaurants decided, “two can play at that game.”

You could incentivize your guests with a decent discount.

Or, a boot to the back of the line.

And finally, “no attention span – no service” is the motto at these fine establishments.
