HotSchedules Continues User Interface Upgrades Based On Customer Feedback
We’ve used customer survey data to further upgrade our modern user interface, keeping it simple and sleek for our users!
After we launched the New Scheduler interface in 2016, we did a survey to ask our customers what they liked and didn’t like about the changes. HotSchedules customers are both loyal and vocal – and our product team heard you loud and clear. While you liked a lot of the changes and additions, there were some things we could do better.
Over the course of the last year, we have worked hard to incorporate those suggestions with the goal of continuously improving your scheduling experience. You may remember the recent color change for web and the mobile apps. Most users enjoy the new soothing blue interface and others…well, not so much.
Since then we have made a few more improvements to the web app that you are sure to like. Read on to learn more!
Optimized Schedule Screen
One key piece of feedback on the New Scheduler was regarding the amount of information visible on the screen. Managers felt like they had to scroll too much to see the info they needed. Some minor sizing and icon changes were made to improve the staff roster view.
Easier Access to Keyboard Shortcuts
By clicking on the Menu, you can now see all your tools, display settings and gain quick access to the keyboard shortcuts and legend.
Shift Approval Screen Improvements
We want to give managers quick, easy access to all the information needed to approve a shift swap with confidence. The alerts column will show what scheduling rules are at risk if you approve the shift.
Auto Pickup and Release
While Auto Pickup/Release has always been a favorite feature in HotSchedules, our recent survey indicated that the interface could be a bit more user-friendly. As you can see in the screenshot, it is now easier for employees to identify the dates they want to automatically pick up or release. As always, managers have final say on all pickups and releases.
