Yesterday marked the completion of a 6-week HotSchedules competition we’re affectionately calling HotFeud.   Teams were formed and each Thursday afternoon, they competed against each other to test their knowledge in various areas.  The format of the competition mirrored popular game shows like Hollywood Squares, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and Are you Smarter Than a 5^th^ grader (and no, I’m not, by the way).

Today was special too – we just had our monthly “First Thursday” lunch (it’s supposed to be on the first Thursday of the month, but we’re flexible around here), where one of the execs cooks lunch for the entire company.  Today, it was VP of Client Services, Justin Buckley and he did the full on, N’Ahlins Crawfish Boil with taters, corn, gumbo  – the whole nine yards.  Not only was it yummy, it gave the entire office a chance to come out of their individual departments and do something together.

That’s kind of the point of all this merry-making – to get us out of our cubes and interacting with departments we might not ordinarily have the chance to.  Not only is it fun, we learn something that we can very often take back to our own roles and use.

It also unifies us as a team and increases our loyalty to the company.  See, there are no slouches here at HotSchedules.  We all work our tail feathers off, and take enormous pride in the work we produce.  Part of the reason we work so hard, though, is because of the passion our corporate culture inspires in us, and I wager you’ll find no better ambassadors of the HotSchedules brand than the employees themselves.
