People really don’t “get” what it’s like to be a server in a restaurant. Between the long-hours, ridiculous customers, crazy coworkers and weird shifts – it’s a server life.

And there are some things … that only a server would understand:
 
1. You work weekends, every weekend for all of the weekends.

 

2. You get a “paycheck” for $2.13.

 

3. The bank teller questions your profession because you have so many dollar bills.

 

4. Ranch is your mortal enemy.

 

5. You eat all of your meals standing up.

 

6. The last thing you want to do is be around people on your day off.

 

7. You have this persistent urge to help if you do find yourself in a restaurant.

 

8. The party actually starts on Monday.

 

9. Holidays are your version of hell.

 

10. And you love it, because the busier you are the more money you make.

 

11. Your shoes will never be “trendy.”

 

12. Your closet looks like a giant black hole of black shirts, pants, socks and shoes.

 

13. Four letter words make up about 70% of your vocabulary.

 

14. Sleeping till 3 p.m. is normal.
